Product Introduction
YX-CODcr-Ⅱ Online Automatic Analyzer is applied to water quality monitoring of wastewater with COD (chemical oxygen demand) between (0~5000)mg/L and a concentration of chloride ions less than 5g/L. Its unique design endows the analyzer with features such as a low failure rate, low maintenance demand, small consumption of reagents, as well as great cost performance. The analyzer is widely applied to sewage emission monitoring and controlling in chemical, metallurgy, papermaking, pharmaceutical and food industries, and water quality monitoring of sewage treatment plants, surface water, etc.
Working Principle
The water sample is digested by the mixture of potassium dichromate and sulfuric acid at a high temperature (175℃), during which organic reducing substances in the water sample are oxidized. In the reaction, Cr6+ is reduced into Cr3+, which causes a color change in the mixture. It calculates the consumption of potassium dichromate by observing the changes of the colors and finally converts the sample into the required oxygen content during the redox reaction, i.e., COD (chemical oxygen demand) of the tested water sample.
