Natural seawater contains a large amount of soluble salts of which main contents are chlorides and sulfates, as well as a certain amount of soluble carbonates. Seawater is generally alkaline, which endows seawater with a natural acid-base buffering capacity and sulfur dioxide-absorption capacity. The Flue Gas Seawater Desulfurization Technology utilizes this feature of seawater to wash up sulfur dioxide in the flue gas and realize purification of the flue gas.
The Seawater Desulfurization process mainly consists of the flue gas system, the seawater supply and drainage system, the seawater recovery system and the electrical control system. Its main procedure is: flue gas which is emitted from the boiler is first dedusted by the deduster, then it is delivered by the booster fan of the FGD System to the heat side of the Gas -Gas-Heater (GGH) for cooling so the absorption rate of sulfur dioxide in the absorption tower will be increased, and then the cooled flue gas is delivered to the absorption tower from the bottom, in which it will be reversely and adequately mixed with the seawater which has been sprayed from the top of the tower; the purified flue gas will be heated through the GGH, then emitted to the air through the chimney.
