Working Principle
Under neutral condition, cyanogen ion reacts with active chlorine within chloramines-T to generate hydrogen chloride. The hydrogen chloride reacts with pyridine to create pentene dialdehyde, and the condensates with barbituric acid into a reddish violet substance, of which the color variation is proportional to the content of cyanide in the sample solution; the instrument obtains the concentration value through colorimetric conversion.
