YX-SFM Ultrasonic Open Channel Flow Meter is a non-pressure flow meter, which has been widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, textile, pharmaceutical and other companies of sewage flow measurement.
Working Principle
YX-SFM Ultrasonic Open Channel Sewage Flow Meter adopts an ultrasonic echo-ranging method to measure the liquid level. The probe transmits pulsed ultrasonic waves to the liquid’s surface, which is reflected by the liquids surface and forms reflected waves, and the reflected waves which the probe has received are called echo; In accordance with the time differences between the reflected waves and the echo, between the reflected wave and the correction wave,calculate the distance between the probe and the liquid surface, subtract it from the distance between the probe and the zero level of the water sample, and that is the liquid’s height; then calculate the flow in accordance with the parameters of a standard weir notch.
When it is used to measure the flow of an open channel, install a water-measuring weir notch in the open channel, which transfers water flow in the open channel into the height of the liquid level. Use instruments to measure the water level in the water-measuring weir notch, and calculate the flow in accordance with the corresponding water level in the water-measuring weir notch-flow relation.

●Non-contact measurement
The sensor doesn’t touch the fluid and keep free from corrosion and dirt of water. The shell of the sensor has been made of NLEPF synthetic materials, which are acid resistance, alkali resistance, and corrosion resistance. Thus, it can run in harsh industrial environments in long-term.
●Direct measurement of the flow water surface
The sensor measures the liquid flow accurately and directly. There is no need to use static wells to prevent suspended solids, and sediment from blocking the connected pipe, which would make the water levels different between the well and the weir notch, or causing faked water level because of the icing during winter, and thus causing the wrong measurement.
