System overview

Using GIS and GPRS technologies, combined with the requirements of Pollution Source On-line Monitoring and Transmission Standards issued by the State Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), this system provides automatic monitoring of the environmental quality, including the automatic monitoring of exhaust gas, waste water, air quality, potable surface water, noise, ecology, radiation, etc.; it provides a scientific basis for decision-making through several kinds of environmental quality online automatic monitoring and data transmission, strengthens the day-to-day supervision and management of environmental quality, implements the visual, map-based and intelligent management of environmental quality data and the integrated utilization of the spatial geographical data. According to the provisions of China SEPA, it also carries out statistical analysis over the automatic monitoring data and generates alarm information, changes the current application state of "online monitoring focusing on front-end acquisition, nonstandard data transmission protocol and poor data timeliness", and improves the law-enforcement organizations ability of environmental quality monitoring and management.
